Women’s Day on FILM CAFE features blockbuster films with expressive female protagonists!

 

They will be played by some of the greatest stars who are loved by younger and older audiences. Premiering this evening will be the thriller ‘Dirty Pretty Things’ starring Audrey Tautou, one of France’s most popular actresses. Its protagonist, a humble maid, will uncover the secrets of the London hotel where she works.  

 

There will be no shortage of evergreens. ‘Terms of Endearment’ – a five Oscar-winning comedy-drama about the difficult love between mother and daughter, starring Shirley MacLaine and Debra Winger, supported by Jack Nicholson – is still a guaranteed tearjerker today! The melodrama ‘Angel Eyes’ with Jennifer Lopez and Jim Caviezel also delivers emotional moments – it is the story of a policewoman who finds out that some people are truly meant for each other.

 

In ‘Boys on the Side’, comedy queen Whoopi Goldberg will take us on a wild journey across the US, accompanied by Drew Barrymore. Together, we will discover the power of female friendship. In the comedy ‘Made in America’, Whoopi will in turn handle a tricky situation when her teenage daughter learns an uncomfortable family secret (namely Ted Danson).
